Stick with Cavan

Collage is more than cutting and pasting—it’s a reflection of life itself. With endless possibilities and no perfect plan, it’s about trusting your gut, embracing spontaneity, and finding meaning in the unexpected.

Stick with Me is a space for creativity, self-discovery, and making something beautiful out of what you have. Scraps from different times and places come together—just like moments in life—to form something uniquely your own. No rules, just feeling your way through and letting it fall into place.

My journey with collage began during the pandemic as a simple craft and became part of my self-care routine. What started as carefree creations evolved into works with deeper meaning, each telling a story or setting a scene. Through this process, I’ve learned that, like life, collage is about embracing the chaos and trusting that everything will come together in its own time.

Each layer, each choice, builds something greater—a testament to the beauty of embracing life’s unpredictability and finding wholeness in the fragments.

Cavan graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Gender & Health. A passionate mental health advocate, she began working with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI CCNS) in high school and has spent years speaking publicly to destigmatize mental illness. At Michigan, Cavan led weekly peer support groups through the Wolverine Support Network, served as Programming Chair for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and was an active member of the Phi Chi pre-medical fraternity.

Currently in her gap year, Cavan is applying to graduate school and to medical school. With a goal of becoming a pediatrician, she is committed to treating both mental and physical health with equal compassion, helping young people feel safe, seen, and supported in every aspect of their care. For Cavan, the process of healing and creating—whether through medicine or art—doesn’t require perfection. You don’t need to be "an artist" to create something meaningful; you just need to trust the process and yourself.
